2017年平码规律三中三: Visit the Set of Dundee

First time visit

If it’s your first time on set, start with the highlights. In Sydney, bike across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, learn to surf in Manly, and see the city through an Indigenous lens as you stroll through The Rocks – Sydney’s oldest neighbourhood. From here, head to the Alice Springs and the Red Centre to learn about Aboriginal art, hold a baby kangaroo at the Kangaroo Sanctuary and dine under a star-studded outback sky with a view of Uluru. Finally, make your way to the islands of the Great Barrier Reef. Sail through the Whitsundays or visit one of the region’s luxury islands, such as Hamilton or Lizard Island, to dive or snorkel with colourful marine life. It’s possible to do it all, even on a short visit.

Remote locations

Whether it’s your first or fiftieth visit to the set, getting off the beaten track offers incredible rewards. Explore the outback with a train journey aboard The Ghan, stopping in remote towns like Coober Pedy (built almost completely underground), or visit a side of the outback seen by few others in the Kimberley. Cruise through thundering waterways and scenic gorges and stay in luxury at El Questro Station. Perhaps Australia’s most remote destination - you will breathe the purest air in the world as you explore the scenic wilderness of western Tasmania with Par Avion. For a wildlife adventure, head to the Eyre Peninsula to swim with sea lions, or see wallabies, dingoes and crocs on an extravagant glamping safari at Bamurru Plains in the spectacular Top End.

Beaches and islands

From hand-feeding wild dolphins on Moreton Island to strolling Darwin’s Mindil Beach Markets at sunset, the beach vacations on-set are practically endless. Relax on the striking white sands of Jervis Bay, just south of Sydney, or have a 4WD adventure spotting dingoes on Fraser Island. Experience Tasmania’s beauty and adorable wildlife like the white wombats on Maria Island, or challenge yourself with a transformative trek led by an indigenous guide through the Bay of Fires on the Wukalina Walk. If you’re looking for a celebration, bring your appetite for the ultimate beach barbecue at the Margaret River Gourmet Escape south of Perth or the Noosa Food and Wine Festival north of Brisbane. However you like to experience the sand, Australia has a beach escape for every type of traveller.

Award-winning Food and Drink

From whiskey and gin sampling in Tasmania to tasting your way through foodie hubs like Adelaide and Melbourne, Australia will satisfy your stomach as well as your soul. You’ll find world-class restaurants in every major city, such as Quay in Sydney and Attica in Melbourne. Get hands-on with an oyster shucking experience in Eyre Peninsula’s Coffin Bay or a truffle hunt in Canberra. Sample it all at events like Tasting Australia in Adelaide, or shop for Tasmanian delicacies at the Salamanca Markets in Hobart. Wine lovers and architecture aficionados should visit McLaren Vale near Adelaide for the quirky Rubik's cube-shaped tasting room at d’Arenberg, or stay among the vines at Jackalope Hotel in the Mornington Peninsula, just south of Melbourne.

Ancient natural landscapes

With much attention focused on Australia’s modern cities, it’s easy to forget that it’s all nestled in a landscape more than 50 million years old. Connect with nature and an ancient culture in the Northern Territory, where you can explore rock art and waterfalls in Kakadu National Park or cruise through the dramatic Katherine Gorge in Nitmiluk National Park. From Melbourne, drive the Great Ocean Road and discover Great Otway National Park where you can spot koalas and explore world-famous surf beaches. In the Flinders Ranges visit the ancient landscape of Wilpena Pound with Aboriginal guides by day and sleep under the stars at night. See the sky reflected beneath you in the mirror-like Lake Tyrell, or spot the prehistoric-looking cassowary in the Daintree - the oldest tropical rainforest in the world.

Events to feed your passion

The set of Dundee isn’t just a place of unique beauty and wildlife; it’s also a place of passions. Art lovers should head to the Adelaide Arts Festival, the special exhibitions at the National Portrait Gallery in Melbourne, Dark MOFO in Tasmania, or Vivid Sydney - which sees the city illuminated in colourful installations. Sports fans are spoilt for choice with the Melbourne Cup, Australian Open Tennis, and AFL Grand Final happening at various times throughout the year. Experience the world’s oldest living culture with indigenous events like Parrtjima Festival in Light in Alice Springs and Go Cultural Aboriginal Tours in Perth. Music lovers, go straight to WOMAdelaide, a celebration of music, arts, and dance.
